Accessibility Statement

How we work to make 42bit.at usable for everyone, and how to reach us if something does not work for you.

Accessibility commitment

42BIT GmbH is committed to making 42bit.at usable for as many people as possible, regardless of ability or assistive technology. We treat accessibility as part of how we build and maintain the site, not as a one-time exercise, and we work to remove barriers as we become aware of them. This statement explains the standard we aim for, what it covers, where we know we fall short, and how to reach us if something does not work for you.

Conformance status

This website aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, the technical basis of EN 301 549 and the European Accessibility Act. We are progressively aligning with the newer WCAG 2.2 success criteria. This is a self-assessment carried out by 42BIT; no external audit has been conducted. Because the site is under continuous development, conformance is described as partially conformant: most of the site meets the target, with the known exceptions listed below.

Scope and accessibility features

This statement applies to the public 42bit.at website in both English and German. Measures already in place include a keyboard skip-to-content link, a clearly visible keyboard focus indicator with a high-contrast white companion ring that stays readable on coloured and dark backgrounds, and full keyboard operation of the navigation menus (open with Enter or Space, move with the arrow keys, close with Escape, with focus returned to the trigger). The mobile menu traps focus while open and restores it on close. The contact form announces validation errors programmatically (using aria-invalid, linked error messages, and a live status region). Interactive controls use target sizes of at least 24 px, the current page is marked with aria-current, the site honours the prefers-reduced-motion setting, images are served in modern AVIF/WebP formats, and a dark mode is available.

Known limitations

Despite our efforts, some parts of the site may not yet be fully accessible. We are aware of the following: third-party embeds such as the Google Maps map on the contact page and our analytics load only after you give cookie consent, and their accessibility is outside our direct control. We are also still aligning some areas with the newer WCAG 2.2 criteria. We are working to address these points and welcome reports of any further barriers you encounter.

Feedback and contact

If you encounter an accessibility barrier on 42bit.at, please let us know and we will address it promptly. You can email us at office@42bit.at or use the contact form on our website, and it helps if you describe the problem and the page where it occurred. We treat accessibility feedback as a priority and will respond as soon as possible.

Status of this statement

This accessibility statement is based on a self-assessment of 42bit.at by 42BIT GmbH. It was last reviewed on 1 June 2026 and will be updated as the site changes and our assessment is repeated.
